One thing all woodworkers can agree on is that wood grain is a wonderful thing. Having said that, many of us may like different features, or characteristics, of grain.
Every woodworker loves a project that looks more difficult to make than it actually is. Impress your friends with this chess board before challenging them to a match.
No one is perfect, but we can appear to be, or at least come close to it on our woodworking projects – once we touch up those few imperfections with a little wood shop ingenuity.
Files and rasps allow you to carefully remove small amounts of material with a freeform approach, mainly on concave and convex edges. These shaping tools help create and fair gentle curves, fine-tune edges and reduce the amount of sanding needed on some small, rough, 3D surfaces.
