Livos MELDOS 264 Natural Resin Hardening Oil is a clear, deeply penetrating oil designed for treating interior softwoods, making it especially well suited for saunas. It’s formulated to soak into the wood rather than sit on the surface, reinforcing the structure and enhancing the natural grain, colour, and character of the wood.

The oil contains natural resins that cure to form a durable, heat- and moisture-resistant finish, which helps protect wood in sauna environments where high heat and humidity would quickly damage unprotected surfaces. The finish does not peel or flake like some surface coatings, and instead develops a natural, matte look that feels pleasant to the touch.

Application is straightforward, requiring clean, dry, bare wood, and it can be brushed, rolled, sponged, or sprayed on, usually in multiple coats to ensure full penetration and protection. Between coats, proper drying and curing is necessary to achieve the best durability before exposing the surface to sauna conditions. While the oil performs very well under sauna heat and humidity, it is not recommended for areas exposed to heavy water splashing, cabinet interiors, plywood, or kitchen cabinetry.
